Our global opportunities scholarships provide up to £15,000 to cover living costs and a fee waiver for postgraduate studies of selected courses. Applications are open to students who cannot access any other postgraduate funding because their current refugee status is defined as asylum seeker, or they have been refused asylum but have been granted some other form of temporary status eg. humanitarian protection, unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) leave or limited leave. The scholarship provides a long-term package of educational and vocational support, including: a tuition fee waiver, accommodation and living costs, access to the university's Momentum mentoring scheme and beepurple, our entrepreneurship network, and internship opportunities. To be considered for one of these scholarships, you must satisfy all of the following criteria: you've received an academic offer for postgraduate study on one of the eligible courses, you're an asylum seeker, or you have been refused asylum but have been granted some other form of temporary status eg. humanitarian protection, unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC) leave or limited leave, you currently live in East or West Sussex, and you're unable to access postgraduate finance through the current UK Government student finance system. Details of the availability of these scholarships for 2017 entry will be published when confirmed.
