Scholarship at AMIDEAST
Level of Funding
The Hope Fund Program is designed to provide talented Palestinian youth who possess leadership potential with an opportunity to pursue an undergraduate degree in the United States. It targets Palestinian refugees living below the poverty line throughout the Mideast, but especially in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, where the needs are most urgent. To date, the Hope Fund Program has enabled nearly 100 bright young men and women to receive scholarships covering their undergraduate studies in the United States. The Hope Fund Program is the result of the generosity and commitment of the late Dr. Fahim Qubain and his wife Nancy. In 2000, they established an organization called the Hope Fund to enable talented underserved Palestinian youth — many from refugee backgrounds — to benefit from an undergraduate education that would realize their academic and leadership potential. Prior to assuming full management of the Hope Fund in 2015, AMIDEAST served as its key in-region partner, assisting with the selection of students and in their preparation to apply for scholarships.
