15 February, 2018
The IEG awards research fellowships to junior scientists (doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers) from Germany and abroad in history, theology or any other historical discipline. Additionally, the Institute invites visiting scientists, who hold scholarships from other organisations, such as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation or the DAAD. Research projects by doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers addressing the historical foundations of Europe's religious, political, social and cultural history between ca. 1450 and 1970 are eligible for funding. Projects with a comparative, transfer historical or transnational focus are particularly welcome, as are proposals dealing with topics related to intellectual, church or theological history. Every year about 20 fellowships are assigned. The base amount is of EUR 1,200 for doctoral candidates and of EUR 1,800 for post-doctoral researchers. Deadlines vary; please see website for more details.
