SIT Graduate Institute is part of World Learning, a non-profit organization advancing leadership in more than 60 countries. Students in our programs come from around the world and, as alumni, become part of a network of engaged citizens working to empower individuals and strengthen institutions through education, exchange and development programs. SIT Graduate Institute and its parent organization have a long history of work in refugee education and resettlement. We are committed to serving the needs of refugee students while on our campus. We are working with local organizations and with the Vermont ORR office to ensure that refugee students are connected to a support network that extends beyond the school. SIT offers a full-tuition waiver for graduate students through degree completion, in the following fields of study: Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), International Education, Sustainable Development, Service, and Leadership & Management. Application Deadlines are as follows: Fall Semester - November 15th, Priority Consideration; February 15th, Regular Admission. For the Spring Semester, the deadline is November 1st. SIT Graduate Institute is a member of IIE’s Consortium for Higher Education in Crisis. Along with numerous other higher education institutions around the world, SIT Graduate Institute has committed support for Syrian students and scholars, primarily in the form of full and partial scholarships.
