Health in Humanitarian Crises

Humanitarian crises due to armed conflict, natural disasters, disease outbreaks and other hazards are a major and growing contributor to ill-health and vulnerability worldwide, and their continuing effects on health and health systems can undermine decades of social development. This resource answers the following questions:

What are the key health needs in humanitarian crises?
How can we develop responses to health needs in humanitarian settings with maximum impact?
How will we respond to health needs in the future?

Volunteering with Refugees

This course is designed to give volunteers an understanding of the backgrounds, current situations and needs of refugees from a wide range of contexts. The course provides strategies and techniques for supporting the diverse needs of refugees and has a specific focus on language support, which may be provided in formal or informal settings (e.g. classrooms or informal support groups). The course has been developed by a group of experts from Crisis Classroom and Cambridge English.

This course provides an introduction to approaches and methods used to evaluate and enhance your teaching, and your students’ learning. The key question we answer is “How do you know you are doing a good job?”.
