Established in 1875, St. Joseph University has grown to have 5 campuses in Beirut, 3 regional centers in Lebanon, 1 center in Dubai, and an administrative office in Paris. USJ also boasts 11 research centers and 33 laboratories, run by 2000 teachers and 500 members of staff. 12,000 students attend the university which also provides 2 cultural centers, a library, 2 theaters, 2 museums, and 2 publishing houses.
